If a roomy volume of fluid have shifted from the blood into the peritoneal cavit, how would this affect bv?
It depends on how rapidly the shift is occurring. Most of the time it happen slowly enough that the kidneys are competent to compensate, thus the blood volume would remain within ordinary parameters. However if it is speedy like within an intraabdominal hemorrhage, blood volume would definitely drop.
when considerable volume of fluid shifted into peritoneal cavity, a lots of fluid is collected and condition known as Ascites is ensue. The effect of loss of fluid from the blood cause lower blood pressure, awareness dizziness, change surrounded by consciousness, cold and clammy skin and extremities, scanty of urine and sometime so serious that can front to failure of the function of kidney, increase heart rate or palpitation. Due to collection of fluid within abdomen it compress on on the organ and neighboring structure. If press on lung, lead to tierdness and increase breathing rate. If compress on heart, cause tightness of chest. If compress on stomach and intestine, end in vomiting, indigestion, discomfort in tummy. sometime it may press on the liver and cause hold-up of the venous return of the liver.
