I be wondering if it is ok to cart a teenagers heat rectally.?
In a hospital setting, rectal temperatures are one entity. At home, quite another. No, it's not okay. It's demeaning, humiliating and unnecessary.
I don't recommend you nick a temp at the armpit but if for some reason you want to, add one amount to what you see on the thermometer.
i suppose if you can get them to stay still.

why would you want to? don't they a short time ago do that on babies because they can't get an accurate read from the mouth?

I would enjoy to say no inless thats the solely thing you have, and you had to find out right away. To me that would have a feeling like a despoliation, and would problay make me touch bad.
It's ok, but unnecessary. I work contained by the health prudence field, so I'm speaking from experience on this one. The just times I have have to take a teen's temp rectally is when they are not coherent or mentally disabled and uncooperative.
