Hello! Next week my mom needs to start Interferon Alpha 2b injection psychotherapy. The side effects are numerous (flu symptoms, mental problems, weight loss... etc) and we are completely scared. Do you own any experience with Interferon?Interferon treatment?

Interferon alpha 2b is the first, and to date, the with the sole purpose adjuvant therapy indicated for high-risk patients near melanoma that has be completely treated with surgery. A focal concern with interferon alpha 2b use have been that most patients experience flu-like side effects, such as muscle pains, headache, hallucination and chills, over the course of therapy, and they may also show reduced white blood cell. Patients receiving high-dose interferon alpha 2b surrounded by that initial trial had significant benefit, within terms of both overall survival and relapse-free survival.
Adverse effects include frenzy, chills, weakness, and myalgia, typically starting 7 to 12 h after the 1st injection and remaining up to 12 h. Depression, hepatitis, and, when used at high doses, bone marrow suppression are also possible.
